See-Saw Characteristics

Archetype of duality, full of dynamic tension
It is a distinctly dualistic shape, an archetype of duality, full of dynamic tension. Within the shape, aspects of the opposition prevail.
This shape may indicate certain objectivity, deliberation and a tendency to solve conflicts. People with a see-saw shape horoscope may be good negotiators in conflicts of opposing parties because they want to make sure that the resolution of the conflict is fair for both parties. That is what they would also inadvertently wish for their own inner division.
Live two lives
The see-saw is related to life bi-polarity, tendency to "disconnect", to living "two lives". At the same time, much of the energy and dynamics is devoted to trying to live and keep both areas "together". Often it seems to them that they have to choose between opposing values, e.g. between two subjects to study, two professions, two intimate relationships, two flats.
In this respect, the shape resembles Gemini mentality, but the tension is greater and more dramatic.
The need for romantic relationships
These people may easily identify with the energies of one half of the see-saw, but feel that the other part of the seesaw is missing. They often find their other I through their romantic relationships. They try to resist it (and escape from the relationship) but at the same time they are dependent on it. The need for a romantic relationship is perhaps more intense than for people who have other shapes of horoscope.
See-saw examples:
- Frank Sinatra is a good example of problems see-saw may cause. He was a loving father, a lover, an artist on the one hand, and a Cosa Nostra family member on the other.
- William Blake, a poet and painter (and his The Marriage of Heaven and Hell) is a great example of see-saw integration.
Awareness of own discontinuity and withdrawal of projections
What is the main individualisation task of the see-saw?
These people should become aware of their own discontinuity, they should make contact with energies that were separated and learn how to communicate. They should integrate the two halves into one whole, into greater unity, and develop it in their own way.
